Hallways should be illuminated every 8-10 feet with flush-mount ceiling fixtures, wall sconces, recessed fixtures, or track lighting.

Movable track fixtures can provide general lighting needed for safety while allowing you to accent family photos or artwork hanging along the wall.

Stairs should be lit from top to bottom with switches at either end. Consider adding a chain-hung fixture above the stairs, should the hallway and foyer fixtures not provide sufficient illumination.
